Holidays bring man jobs. First cab off the rank was the door leading to the garage where one of the hinges had come loose. However, this is my entire collection of tools:

But, being a man I fixed it nonetheless:

After completing that job. I tweeted:

Then I was retweeted by @s_bridges:

I moved on to the tricky task of the light switch which still remains an unfinished man job after I couldn’t retrieve the switch:

Which brings me to the most important of all man jobs that again is still unfinished:

Now, the moral of the story is that you don’t need a whole shed of tools to do man jobs. Also, you don’t need @s_bridges making jokes about man jobs because real men take man jobs seriously.

I don’t understand how you couldn’t have finished the light switch job with the hammer.

Update: I used the hammer claw to pop the cover off the lightswitch then with the leatherman pliers I retrieved the switch. Scott, I made sure the power was off first. Try and retweet that into a sexually suggestive connetation.

Oh man, this post is making me feel so ashamed. I have a shedload of unfinished man jobs that I have been putting off. That’s it, I’m going down the pub.

The crisp is a hangover from my days in the military defending us from Leftists and Islamists. See you at the pub, Toaf.
*Good article on beer in today’s Age.

How to fix that tricky switch. A screw driver should be the only tool required.
- Go to fuse box and isolate (turn off) the LIGHTS fuse or circuit breaker
- Try turn the light on and off with the good switch to make sure power is off. If in doubt turn off main switch in fuse box.
- Unclip the plate around the switch, this will expose the screws holding the switch mount to the door frame.
-Unscrew the switch mount and pull out.
- You should then be able to click the switch into place though be careful not to pull on the wires in case they come out of the switch connectors.
Now for the ironing – fuck the ironing.

The only reason Scott didn’t watch The Wire DVD is because he didn’t have any tools for opening the shrink wrap.

Cheers, Wah. However, the garage door has fallen off the hinge again.

Buy longer screws for that door.

Great idea but the door is hollow and I bet the door was made by foreigners. Any ideas?

Remove hinge screws, shove dried twigs into holes and snap off. Re-fix screws.
Leatherman rocks.

What Idlaviv said. Or you can use matchsticks. I learnt that from my Dad.
