Two months ago I had a dream. And last night my dream, and those of the millions thousands hundreds dozens of Twitterers who had joined the #PwnedNudieRun cult, were answered.
Which means that Garry Linnell, and Paul Kent, and their first rate sources, to use a word beloved of the computer-gamers, have been well and truly pwned.
That’s P-W-N-E-D. And I didn’t know the word either, until I started using Twitter. I rather like it.
Ladies and gentlemen …

And what an awesome way for Jonathan Holmes to say it. Classy and perfect.
But within seconds of That Word leaving @jonaholmesMW‘s lips, every single #PwnedNudieRun-ner foolish enough to make their pledge about as public as it can be, had their bluff called.
@clubwah: Strip off you fat bloggy nerds!
So we did.
Here I am, causing unknowable damage to the retinas of Brunswick residents.

It looks like more of a power walk than a run

A quick thumbs-up before frightening my neighbours on the communal stairs
Next up we have Dave from Albury who just got himself banished to Wodonga.

The tattoo distracted residents from his danglies

A weak start but I'm told he finished strongly
Here’s thewetmale with some inspired disguising of his rude bits.

Self-portraits reduce the number of people who see you run
You can definitely see Rod McGuinness in his photograph if you squint hard enough.

Like photos of UFO sightings, scientists will be studying this for years to determine its authenticity
Toaf was home alone and could only manage a remote-triggered photo as he headed out the door.

He must work out
And here are a couple of photos from people who at least dropped their pants for the cause.

@campbell76

@sunlightandsnow
But for pure effort, the overall award must go to _spock for the video of his #PwnedNudieRun.
As so many people on Twitter said last night, sometimes the Internet is just really fucking cool. Thanks for playing along, Jonathan.
UPDATE: An awesome video by Andy Blume.

Why do I love Twitter?
Well because it’s given me two of the funniest nights of entertainment this year.
The first being Scott’s live-tweeting of his attendance at a certain smoke-afflicted outer-suburban wedding. The second was last nights #mediawatch.
It had all the makings of a classic. During the week there were the pleadings, the rumours and then the toying from the generous Jonathan Holmes. The build-up throughout the actual show was excruciating. By the time of the show’s climax, when he actually said the word “pwned”, life seemed to have become stationary, multi-tasking impossible. In my pathetic state of suspense/dread, I had completely missed what Jonathan had said and how he had used the term.
The follow-up on Twitter, after the show’s completion, was truly brilliant. I commend all for their bravery/madness and all their funny text/photo/video submissions.
Long may you rule Twitter.

Hey why no ladeeeees – surely some have enough of a beard to join in.
There needs to be some rules to define a nudierun as none of these runs took in Woolworths, Mcdonalds, ALdi or the like.
Rule 1: A nudierun has to pass at least one parade of open shops.
Rule 2: A nudierun has to be at least 800metres or at least 2 minutes 10seconds duration, this encourages Olympic athletes, in particular Tamsin Lewis, rather than the beardees above.

It’s hard to believe #pwnednudierun was only 24 hours ago! I felt very honoured to be part of something so special.
No one will ever doubt the power of social media again and it is fitting that dodgy social media gurus will use this as a shining example of something alluring and billable. And knowing it was Gary ‘First Rate Sources’ Linnell who got pwned, made it just that little bit sweeter.
Good times.
