The cyclists on the road don’t bother me so much, but the cyclists that almost me over on the footpath do so I consider it to be part of the circle of life that people get annoyed with them on the road.

Okay Molesworth. I’ve thought about it some more. And you’re absolutely right. Cyclists are just a bunch a free-loading cheapskate big oil hating hippies who should go back to munching flowers, hugging trees and squeezing out babies in their spa baths. Never mind that they hold up the traffic and get motorists’ panties all knotted up in a wet hungry bunch: these two-wheeled lady boys are worse than puppy killers.

We should get some grunt into our girly pinko laws and tax ‘em off the road. Hey, let’s just ban them altogether. There should be a law. We will decide who rides on our roadways and the manner in which they ride.

No they’re not. Most motorcyclists own cars too but still have to pay separate registration, stamp duty, third party insurance & license fees for the right to ride their bikes on the roads. Cyclists are therefore on the roads as a privilege, not a right.

What, and so if they paid more money to gain the right to use the road that would make everything alright? Perhaps we should move to a flat tax while we’re at it. I mean, it’s only fair.

Most cyclists also own a car anyway, so they’re already paying all those other on the road costs – hardly a free ride. I drive around alot, and cyclists are rarely an inconvenience – at most a ten second hold up when they get in the way at all. This whole thing’s a big whiney beat up.

Some motorists are feeling put upon because of the wider car debate. And since those big tanks came into vogue, even the previously mild-mannered now wear the aggression of a US Marine. Even pedestrians piss them off. It’s as though if you haven’t got four wheels, you’re unAustralian. Fuck that.
